i know there are security issues with pptp but it doesnt require a client executable on windows machines and openvpn does. I am looking into the possibility of jsut running a vpn server locally. Well continuing on my path anyway i enabled syslogd and ran pptpd in debug mode for some output.Īug 5 12:55:07 router pptpd: MGR: Maximum of 100 connections reduced to 10, not enough IP addresses givenĪug 5 12:55:07 router pptpd: MGR: Manager process startedĪug 5 12:55:07 router pptpd: MGR: Maximum of 10 connections availableĪug 5 12:55:18 router pptpd: CTRL: Client 66.226.200.250 control connection startedĪug 5 12:55:18 router pptpd: CTRL: Starting call (launching pppd, opening GRE)Īug 5 12:55:18 router daemon.err pptpd: GRE: read(fd=7,buffer=420c6c,len=8196) from PTY failed: status = -1 error = Input/output error, usually caused by unexpected termination of pppd, check option syntax and pppd logsĪug 5 12:55:18 router daemon.err pptpd: CTRL: PTY read or GRE write failed (pty,gre)=(7,Īug 5 12:55:18 router bug pptpd: CTRL: Reaping child PPPĪug 5 12:55:18 router pptpd: CTRL: Client 66.226.200.250 control connection finished Notebook 2, Deskjet 6980 connected to WDS Node 2 WDS Node 2: WRT54GL (g-Only, WPA-Mixed-Mixed WDS-connected to Router)Ĭlients: Notebook 1, D-Link 323, PS3 Slim, Kathrein UFC960 connected to WDS Node 1 via Gigabit Switch. Anyone have any suggestions on how to debug or find the problem? I ran my Radius server in full debug and logging mode and can verify that my router never even queries it. Windows always gives me a 619 error as soon as i try to connect. I enabled Radius in the PPTP section, pointed it to my radius server (CentOS box) then tried to connect via an external machine. VPN works fine without the radius server. I have setup a radius server at home and want to authenticate my PPTP vpn via radius rather than using the cleartext passwords on the router. So I have a WRT54GS 2.0 at home runnign DD-WRT VINT Mega build.ĭD-WRT v24-sp2 (11/02/09) mega - build 13064M VINT Eko Posted: Thu 15:54 Post subject: Re: Radius and DD-WRT PPTP Server
